Afton Treadmills: Reasonable Priced Treadmills for the Home Based Fitness Segment
With fitness being served on life’s menu every now and then, it is but obvious that there are a lot of takers for fitness based equipment and machinery. Continuing in the same breadth, there are many brands which offer different models in a variety of ranges in each exercising equipment series, and the treadmill segment is no alien to this notion. One popular brand of treadmills is the Afton treadmill series. With a decent chunk of users, the Afton brand, especially the treadmill sector manages to be in the top 10 ratings, at least as per sales.
Coming to the finer aspects of the Afton treadmill series, there is one thing which stands out in almost every model of theirs: the machine is sturdy, and this in a way makes it quite the reliable type (the basic arrangement and the look in itself is very strong). Also, most Afton treadmills are offered in the ‘reasonable pricing’ segment. Though its user base is mostly scattered all around South Asia and the Middle East belt, the manufacturers of Afton treadmills are South Korea based.
Starting with the positive aspects, most Afton treadmills come with good side handles along with most of the safety features. The overall quality of the workout also has been rated highly by users and so are some of the add-ons which come with most of the Afton models. The heartbeat meter works well and even the calorie meter works almost above average. With exciting looks combined with budget pricing, Afton treadmills do make a valid point.
On the flip side, many reviews have pointed out 3 major issues which are as follows:
- Inaccuracy of certain results
- Usage of low grade plastic in some models
- Average to worse after sales response
Some models of the Afton treadmill series have certain electronics based issues which in turn affect certain types of displays or results like the calorie and dist meters. Certain models do have the usage of low grade plastics which make such treadmills look older than what they actually are. Also, one other major flip is the after sales service in certain locations (interiors are the worst hit).
But as the company is currently in the expansion mode, this might change but the other aspects need a thorough go through. Also, like all treadmills, even Afton treadmills require monthly maintenance post 6 months of usage (approximate analysis – may differ with usage). A general guide towards lubrication which needs to be done regularly is mentioned in the handbook which comes with the purchase.
The Afton treadmills aren’t a comfortable buy option for professional gyms and health clubs but certain high end models have received excellent reviews even after 2 to 3 years of usage. High end treadmill models from the house of Afton do come with a lot of discounts but are still out of the reach of the general user base. All in all, most of the popular models work best for home users who are facing a time crunch and prefer fitness only when convenience is mixed with it.
